Wearable support for everyday fibromyalgia relief

Quell Fibromyalgia is available by prescription for patients who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have high pain sensitivity. High pain sensitivity means that you are often tender to touch, may experience pain when exposed to cold or heat, and where even light touch can feel painful. Quell Fibromyalgia is a wearable medical device that gently stimulates the nerves in your upper calf using precise electrical pulses, a type of therapy known as neuromodulation. This nerve activity is thought to trigger a neurological response that may help reduce fibromyalgia symptoms in adults with high pain sensitivity.¹

Quell Fibromyalgia is non-invasive and drug-free. It is not associated with significant side effects. A small number of patients may experience a rash under the Quell electrodes that is mild and usually resolves quickly.

In a clinical trial of Quell Fibromyalgia, the majority of study subjects with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and high pain sensitivity reported a significant decrease in pain and fibromyalgia-related symptoms. ¹

Quell Fibromyalgia is applied to the upper calf, but patients often experience widespread pain and symptom relief. This is due to Quell Fibromyalgia's unique mechanism of action that alters the body's response to painful stimuli. With regular use, Quell Fibromyalgia has been shown to reduce heightened pain perception and fibromyalgia symptoms in patients with high pain sensitivity.

You only wear one Quell Fibromyalgia device at a time. To help manage symptoms on both sides of the body and reduce the risk of skin irritation, it’s recommended that you regularly alternate legs and placement areas. If your pain is more noticeable on one side, you may choose to wear the device on that side more often, while still rotating placement between the right and left legs and between the front and back of each calf.

The device should be worn on the upper calf. The User Manual describes a couple of alternative locations that can be used if the device cannot be placed on the upper calf.

No. Quell Fibromyalgia is not filled at retail or local pharmacies. It is a prescription medical device that is fulfilled through a dedicated ordering process, which differs depending on whether you are a Veteran. If you receive care outside the VA, your health care provider can submit a prescription directly to our Customer Experience team, and your device will be shipped to your home. If you receive care through the VA, your provider will submit the prescription through the VA system, and your device will also be shipped directly to your home.
