Quell® wearable technology was created by the scientists and biomedical engineers at NeuroMetrix. The company was started in 1996, while conducting scientific research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The scientists and engineers at NeuroMetrix have spent over 20 years developing breakthrough neurodiagnostic and wearable products. The company has been granted over 70 patents and published numerous scientific papers and abstracts.
On May 2, 2025, it was announced that NeuroMetrix, Inc. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of electroCore, Inc. While operating under the ownership of electroCore, NeuroMetrix will continue to provide its Quell products and services under its established brand.
